GOBOXX MXL VR is instrumental in the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope Renovation

In Hawaii, atop\nthe dormant volcano of Mauna Kea, engineers, astronomers, and administrators\nare undertaking a monumental, ten-year renovation: converting the\nCanada-France-Hawaii Telescope (CFHT), a 3.6 meter optical/infrared telescope,\ninto the Maunakea Spectroscopic Explorer (MSE), a 11.25 meter segmented mirror\ntelescope, which will lead the world in multi-object spectroscopy, with a\nunique capability to study up to 4,000 astronomical objects at once. In other\nwords, these skilled professionals are putting a 11.25 meter telescope into an\nobservatory built to house a 3.6 meter telescope.

In a new BOXX\ncustomer story and video, CFHT instrument designer, machinist, and SOLIDWORKS\nuser Greg Green discusses their demanding design workflow, massive data sets,\nand how SOLIDWORKS Extended Reality (XR) and GoBOXX MXL from BOXX Technologies play\npivotal roles in securing funding and keeping this historic renovation moving\nforward.
