For those used to working in their office or studio on desktop tower systems, you may be concerned that the performance of these re-certified laptops won’t come close to what you’re used to—but that’s where you’re wrong.
Let’s look at SOLIDWORKS again. This time, we ran some benchmarks illustrating the type of performance to expect when compared to our flagship desktop model, the APEXX S3.
As is often the case with laptops, there is a tradeoff due to GoBOXX SLM portability and ultra-thin form factor. It’s also worth noting that while the GoBOXX SLM 6-core CPU has a base clock speed of 2.6 GHz and can boost up to 4.3 GHz, the APEXX S3 8-core CPU is liquid-cooled and runs at a stable 5.1 GHz across all cores at all times.
Although the GoBOXX SLM 15 does not use an APEXX S3s professionally overclocked processor, the numbers show that, in certain tasks, it performs close to our flagship model. This means you’ll likely be able to achieve similar performance in lightly-threaded applications like SOLIDWORKS, compared to our most popular, less portable, desktop workstation.
